Happy Wednesday!
I’m sharing today’s card to celebrate a little bit of Fall with a whole lot of “hope”. We’re having some beautiful cooler Fall weather here in New Jersey and I’m very much enjoying it. Sweater weather might finally be here!
Stampin’ Up!’s stunning Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper sat on my desk for at least the past three weeks. I wanted to create something special with it, but just couldn’t get it going. I pulled out pattern after pattern and nothing was coming to me, so there the paper sat. For today’s post, I wanted to use the Stitched Leaves Dies and in almost an instant, I knew the patterned paper I would use. It was obvious that the card stock had to be Very Vanilla and a Gold Foil Sheet.
Once I had these perfectly stitched leaves cropped, I gave them a little bit of a Gold Foil shadow and attached them to a Stitched Rectangle layer. This would be my focal point. I thought about adding a Gold Foil layer to the back of the stitched rectangle, but I wanted more of the patterned paper to be seen.
Keeping the larger maple leaf on top emphasizes the pattern repeat in the card design by drawing attention to the gold foiled maple leaves in the patterned paper.

Whenever I use Very Vanilla, Gold or Copper in a project, my “go to” sentiment ink would always be Soft Suede. For this card though, I thought Soft Suede would be a little too dark. I stamped the sentiment in Encore’s Metallic Gold. “HOPE CHANGES EVERYTHING” is from the Love of Leaves stamp set.
So, grab some stunning Designer Series Paper, add a layer and a few shadowed, cropped elements, and create something soft and pretty.
The only limitation is your imagination!

Wishing you all a happy Monday and lots of love!
Here it is! The one I’ve been waiting for. I’ve been waiting to get my hands on this gorgeous sunflower and have some fun with it.
The Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle featured in the Annual Catalog is beautiful! Trust me on this one, you could just stamp the large sunflower image and not give it a bit of color or crop; that’s how beautifully detailed the stamp is. For today’s project though, I colored and cropped.

I used only ink and a Blender Pen to color in this image. The Markers and Blends are great, but for me the Blender Pen and a little ink puddle work. The stamped image is so detailed that all I did was follow the lines of the image with color and blended just a little. It was that easy! The striking Fall color palette is Cajun Craze, Mossy Meadow and Crushed Curry. The images and sentiment were stamped with Soft Suede.

I cropped both the sunflower and leaves with the matching Sunflowers Dies, added a few Stampin’ Dimensionals to both and stamped my sentiment to a Very Vanilla and Cajun Craze layered card base. Oh, and don’t forget to give your envelope a little lift with the Envelopes Dies. I lined the envelope for this card with some Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper. Quick and easy!

So grab a beautiful sunflower stamp, blend in some color, pop it up on a few Dimensionals and create something amazing!

Sep 8, 2020 | Fall Themed, Thank You |

A happy Tuesday to you and hope your weekend celebrations were joyful and safe.
When I first saw Stampin’ Up!’s new Holiday Catalog, the Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper was the first product on my new “Wish List”. When I get any of the new catalogs in my hands, I always browse first; then I browse with sticky notes, then with a note pad and pen. The note pad and pen phase gets serious since most of those products land on my official order list.
The Plaid Tidings DSP was penned first, then shortly in my hands. My decision was a good one! I love anything plaid and the patterned paper coordinates with so many colors that in turn, can be used to celebrate just about any occasion.
Today’s project is a simple “Thank You” in a Fall color palette featuring the Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper and the Ornamental Envelopes Bundle.

It’s easy to give a simple card that WOW! factor with the Envelope Dies. Today, I used one of the dies on the envelope flap and lined just the flap with a piece of Rich Razzleberry card stock to match the layers on the card.

The images on the card are from the Ornamental Envelopes stamp set and the little flowers were cropped with a matching die from the Envelopes Dies. I used one of the ovals from the Stitched Shapes dies. (page 183 in the Annual Catalog).
Below are my card layer dimensions:
- Cut a standard A-2 card base;
- Whisper White layer is 5 1/4″ X 4″;
- Rich Razzleberry layer is 3 5/8″ X 4 7/8″;
- The plaid DSP layer is 4 3/4″ X 3 1/2″
So, grab that pretty plaid paper, match your favorite card stock, stamp a sentiment, die cut an envelope flap and create something special. The only limitation is your imagination!

I don’t know where the time goes, but it’s flying by at record speed! This week’s Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge has “Fall” written all over it and I happen to love the vibrancy of the Fall colors.

I’ve been wanting to use the “Basket of Wishes” stamp set and thought this would be the perfect opportunity. I enjoy keeping fresh flowers in my home. I have an arrangement of Sunflowers on my dining table and they were my inspiration today.
This project is, without a doubt, clean and simple. I created lots of layers, stamped the images and used my ink pads and blender pen to do the coloring. The stamps are photopolymer which I define as “perfectly clear” so placement is easy with the clear blocks. This is a stamp set you’ll use way beyond “Fall”.

Before I end today’s post, I want to say “Thank You” to the Pals Paper Arts Design Team for choosing my scarecrow card as a “Pals Pick” last week. It felt good to have my card chosen and more rewarding to be chosen among the company of Lynn, Kajcyika and the talent of all the amazing Pals. Thank you Design Team! Here’s my card and a link back to the post.

So, grab some card stock, crop a few layers, add your favorite colors and create something simple and sweet.
Until next time,

It's Thursday and another Pals Paper Arts Challenge. This one's a color challenge… pretty Fall colors… Delightful Dijon, Old Olive and Cajun Craze.

Not only are the colors pretty and perfect for Fall, the stamp set is perfect for just about anything. It's on "My Favorites" list from the new Holiday Catalog. "Among the Branches" can be used for cards as I did here, for tags on packages, goodie bags, wine bottles and just about anything you want to tag or decorate… there's one for Halloween, Autumn and Christmas or New Year's.
As I was stamping the sentiment, I had to laugh… the words "tasty dishes" made me think of a slice of cheesecake! So that means I'll have to indulge… maybe this weekend.
So, pull out your card stock, do a little fussy cutting and create something beautiful to link up with the Pals.
