The soft color palette in the Abstract Beauty Designer Series Paper is the inspiration for today’s colors. I’m sure you know from my blog posts that I enjoy creating with patterned paper. Abstract Beauty is a 4″ x 6″ paper pack full of beautiful colors and amazing generic patterns. The 4″ x 6″ size makes it easy to layer onto a cardstock base. This is a fun paper pack to create projects with mixed paper patterns.
The Bits And Pieces For Today’s Card
- Cut an A-2 top fold card base 4 1/4″ x 11″ and score at 5 1/2″.
- Attach a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ Basic White layer to the front of the card base.
- The floral patterned paper layer is 4″ x 5 1/4″.
- The smaller Petal Pink layer is 2 5/8″ x 3 7/8″.
- The polka dot patterned paper layer is 2 1/2″ x 3 3/4″.
- I die cut the Basic White circle from the Beautiful Shapes Dies and stamped the flowers from the Hello Beautiful stamp set. I used Night of Navy, Petal Pink, Just Jade and Bumblebee ink to stamp the images.
- The sentiment layer is 3/4″ x 2″.
- “Thinking of You” is stamped with Night of Navy ink.
“Thinking of You” is a sentiment stamp from the Sale-A-Bration Special Moments stamp set. The set is FREE with a $100 product purchase. As the title suggests, this stamp set has sentiments for all of those special life moments. This is one you might want to add to your stash. The fonts are clean and simple and there’s a nice mix of card front and inside sentiments.
The Petal Pink ribbon is so soft, tying a bow is quick and easy. This 1/8″ wide ribbon is one of the Cotton Ribbon Combo Pack on page 43 of the January – June 2022 Mini Catalog.
So, get that special patterned pack, cut a few layers and create something with a bow!

Hello Stampers!
Today’s card is my first Slimline card. I suppose you would call this a Mini Slimline. The finished card dimensions are 3 1/2″ x 7″. I thoroughly enjoyed putting this together. It was a nice change from my A-2 cards.
My inspiration for this card came from the beautiful, subtle designs in the Heart & Home Designer Series Paper. The card had to have a soft, delicate vibe to match he patterns. I laid out all of the patterns and made my choices. “Pattern Repeat” came to mind as I was making my pattern decisions. You can see the floral images repeated more than once in my card. Repeating a pattern in a card design, whether it’s flowers, circles or simple shapes always works!
Today’s Card Elements
- Working with a Product Suite makes it easy to create. The Heart & Home Suite includes the Honeybee Home Bundle, Heart & Home Designer Series Paper and the Heart & Home Doilies.
- The Basic White card base is a 7″ square scored at 3 1/2″.
- The Basic Gray and White wood grain patterned paper layer is 7″ x 3 1/2″, attached to the card front.
- The large floral patterned paper is 2 1/2″ x 6″, attached to the right side of the card front, centered.
- The smaller floral patterned paper is 2 1/2″ x 1 1/2″. I attached this to the top of the larger floral DSP.
- I used Basic Gray ink for all of the stamped images, die cut them with the matching Honeybee Blooms Dies and added a bit of color with Fresh Freesia and Pale Papaya Blends.
- The pretty Basic Gray doily is the perfect “grounding” layer for all of the die cut elements.
- I punched the sentiment with the scalloped oval with the Double Oval Punch.
- I scattered some sparkle with a few 2021-2023 In Color Jewels. Love them!
The Envelope, Please
Now I have this pretty little card and no envelope. I went to Pinterest to see if I could fins slimline envelope templates to share with you. There were tons, but not with the dimensions of this card. With a piece of copy paper, I folded and scored until I got something I could share. It’s been a while since I created a card with stamps, paper and ink!
The making of this card
I still have the first card I stamped… scattered stamped pumpkins on a cardstock base with a “thank you” sentiment. No die cuts, no embellishments, only a rubber stamp, paper and ink. That card came to mind as I was making today’s card.
The Eden’s Garden stamp set is one of Stampin’ Up!’s Distinktive Stamps. They’re amazing. The rubber is cut in a way that different opacities are created on one stamp for a dimensional image. I thought this stamp set would be perfect for a clean and simple stamps, paper and ink card.
The most time consuming part of making this card was deciding on a color. Pantone just announced their color of the year. This year’s color is called Very Peri. It’s periwinkle blue with undertones of purple. Very Peri gave me the inspiration to use Gorgeous Grape. I mixed in some Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive and stamped the sentiment with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
I couldn’t resist giving this card a little sparkle and accomplished that by scattering a few 2021-2023 In Color Jewels. Love3 them!
So, find a beautiful stamp, add some ink, cut a few layers and create something clean and simple to send hugs to someone special.

We’re celebrating a new Challenge at the Paper Players this week. Our amazing Claire is hosting a Theme Challenge… “Give Thanks”!
Each day, I think about everything I have to be thankful for. I’m sure you can think of so many happy moments you’ve recently had… you’ve probably had a few today!
When I was planning my card for today’s post, I came across this sentiment from a stamp set called Etched In Nature. The pack of Ever Eden Designer Series Paper was out on my workspace. The pattern I’m featuring today was on top. I thought there was nothing more fitting than to pair this beautiful leaf patterned paper with this sentiment. I’m always amazed at how card elements will be inspirational.!
On a Basic White card base, I added a Soft Succulent cardstock layer, then the patterned paper layer. The patterned paper features beautiful gold foil accents, so I punched two gold foil circles to use as an anchor for the die cut sentiment frame. The sentiment is stamped with Evening Evergreen ink. I added a few Gold Metallic Pearls to embellish the frame and die cut two Basic White leaf sprays to bring the white up from my card base.
So, take a look at some of your heartfelt sentiments, add some beautiful patterned paper, cut a few layers and create something “thankful” to link up with us over at the Paper Players.

Today’s post features the new Eden’s Garden Bundle and the. Ever Eden Designer Series Paper
I kept my card design simple to show off the designer series paper, stamped sentiment and die cuts. I added a few sparkling embellishments from the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels.
Card Layer Dimensions
- The Evening Evergreen card base is a standard top fold A-2 base cut at 11″ x 4 1/4″ and scored at 5 1/2″.
- The bottom patterned paper layer is 2 1/2″ x 4″.
- The top patterned paper layer is a 3 1/2″ square.
- The top Evening Evergreen mat layer is a 3 5/8″ square.
- The Basic White sentiment layer is a 2 1/4″ square.
- The Evening Evergreen mat layer for the sentiment layer is a 2 3/8″ square.
Once your patterned paper and cardstock layers are cut, the card goes together quickly. I used the Multipurpose Glue to attach the layers. The glue gives you a little time to place your layers evenly. This works especially well when you’re working with thin layers.
The Bundle
The Eden’s Garden Bundle includes the Eden’s Garden stamp set and the Eden Dies. This Bundle is an early release from the upcoming Spring Mini Catalog.
The Stamp Set
- The stamp set is “Distinktive” . That means there are different opacities (shading and shadows) cut into the stamp so the stamped images have beautiful dimension.
- The sentiments are mixed fonts that are clean and crisp.
- The messages are generic “thinking of you”. I know I’ll use them often and you will, too!
The Dies
- The best description I can give for the Dies is they are detailed and stunning!
- The Dies include a large and small frame, a border die, a sentiment die and a floral sprig embellishment die.
- These Dies are perfect for multiple cards, framed photo cards and will add that extra something to a simple card or sentiment.
The Ever Eden Designer Series Paper
- I am a patterned paper hoarder and addict! I really tried to avoid getting the DSP but couldn’t resist.
- The Soft Succulent, Gold Foil and Evening Evergreen color combination is beautiful.
- This is Specialty Designer Series Paper. On one side there are stamped gold foil images and the other side is simple and generic.
- The paper is not being carried over to the new Mini Catalog and is only available until January 2nd, so don’t hesitate.
