CAS Fall Fun For The Paper Players

Happy Sunday!  It’s Clean and Simple week at the Paper Players and our amazing Claire is hosting.  She wants us to create a Fun Fall CAS card.  Just a reminder… a CAS card is Clean and Simple with minimal layers, lots of white space and little or no embellishments.

When I think of Fall Fun, I think of leaves falling and leaving their colorful beauty on the ground.  Yes, I’ve spent many years raking leaves, and that was fun, too… most of the time!

I truly enjoy creating CAS cards and this one’s no exception. It didn’t take much effort on my part to decide which stamps and dies to use.  The Love of Leaves stamp set and Stitched Leaves Dies are a favorite.

The texture in my card layer and leaves is easily created using the Dies.  My leaves are stamped with Mossy Meadow, Bumblebee and Cinnamon Cider ink. I attached my “galling leaves” with Dimensionals and my card was complete.

So, find a Fun Fall stamp set, add some simple texture and create something clean and simple to link up with us over at the Paper Players.

Clean & Simple Pretty Pumpkins

Hello friends!

I’m starting my post with a question.   Do you enjoy creating with die cut images?  There are times when I don’t want to open an ink pad, then there are times I don’t want to slide over to my die cutting machine. Of course, there is no right answer. It depends…

Today’s card is a quick and easy, clean and simple Fall themed card to send some well wishes.  It’s a mix of patterned paper, die cuts and a sentiment stamp and you can complete it quickly.

Here’s the  mix:

  • The Detailed Pumpkin Dies cut all three pumpkins.
  • For some texture, the large Crushed Curry pumpkin is embossed with the Bark Embossing Folder.
  • With a Sponge Dauber and Basic Black ink, I inked the edge of the pumpkin to give it a little lift.
  • The center pumpkin die cut is the polka dot pattern from the Cute Halloween Designer Series Paper. The polka dots are bold, randomly placed, and have a whimsical look.
  • The polka dot card base layer is more of a traditional polka dot pattern since the polka dots are linear. This patterned paper is part of the Beautifully Penned Sale-A-Brationo DSP.  It’s FREE!
  • The barnyard fence is from the Sheep Dies which are also FREE! with a qualifying Sale-A-Bration purchase.
  • And my last and final mixer is the sentiment stamp. I like the way the font matched this simple design. It’s from the Season’s Blessings stamp set which is in the Annual Catalog.

Maybe you have every product I mentioned today in your paper crafting collection, but if you don’t you can re-create this design using products you have. That’s what makes the creative process both fun and personal.

So, find a few fun dies, add some fun patterned paper and create something quick and easy to send well wishes.

Sparkle of the Season for the Pals

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month, the theme is “My Happiest Season”. We really hope that you enjoy and will be inspired by them! As you hop from blog to blog, don’t forget to leave comments because we love hearing from you. You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

I always enjoy the change of seasons since each one has its own beauty. My happiest season, though is the Fall.  I enjoy the crisp air, Fall flowers and colors.  It’s also the season of Thanksgiving and gratitude!

Today’s card features the Sparkle of the Season Bundle from the new August – December, 2021 Mini Catalog.  Both the stamp set and dies will have you wreath making all year.  The patterned paper from the Harvest Meadow Designer Series Paper was my color inspiration.  Mixing Misty Moonlight with Bumblebee and Cajun Craze makes for a fun Fall thank you card.

Here’s how I did it:

  • Cut a standard A-2 top fold card base 11″ X 4 1/4″ and score at 5 12″/
  • The thin Misty Moonlight layer is 4 1/7″ x 5 3/8″.
  • The Bumblebee patterned paper layer is 4″ x 5 1/4″‘
  • I die cut two Stitched Rectangles, one Basic White and one Misty Moonlight.  The Stitched Rectangles measure approximately  2 1/4″ x 3 1/2″.
  • All of my card elements are die cut using the Seasonal Swirls Dies.
  • I used a Fine Tip Glue Pen to attach and decorate my wteath.
  • The sentiment layer is 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ and is attached with Mini Dimensionals.

This is a very easy card to put together.  You will give your Cut & Emboss Machine a good workout, though. I guarantee you’ll have fun decorating all sorts of seasonal wreaths.

So, add Sparkle Of The Season to your Wish List and create a unique wreath!

...the only limitation is your imagination!

More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. The Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop on September 8th. Our theme will be “Focus on the Sentiment” when our Design Team creates a project showcasing a sentiment as the focal point of their project. Until then, have fun in your craft space.

Pretty Pumpkins Are Pretty!

Happy Thursday

I designed today’s card from another favorite in the new Holiday Mini,  the Pretty Pumpkins Bundle.  These pumpkins are pretty, indeed and make it very easy to create pretty Fall themed projects.  The Bundle includes the Pretty Pumpkin Stamp Set and the Detailed Pumpkin Dies.  Purchase the Bundle and get a 10% discount.

Inspiration can come from anywhere.  It’s always around us. Today’s card is inspired by a catalog ad I saw.  When I saw this picture, Pretty Pumpkins came to my mind. It’s interesting how that happens.

Rather than using a wood background, I used a textured patterned paper from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper which is currently in the Annual Catalog.  My card base is Gray Granite and I added a Pool Party cardstock layer under the patterned paper.  The Gray Granite stamped pumpkin images are die cut with the matching die.  The bottom leaf cluster is stamped with Mossy Meadow ink and die cut with the matching die.

A tip and a trick:  I always use Thick Basic White cardstock for die cutting images when I can.  The thicker cardstock gives you a sturdy die cut which will give more dimension to your finished project.

My Blends are fabulous for coloring, but my favorite coloring tools are a Blender Pen and ink.  I used Gray Granite to outline the stamped lines of the pumpkins and shaded the leaves with Mossy Meadow ink and my Blender Pen.  I couldn’t resist inking up the background DSP, so I inked up my Blending Brush and had a little fun with Pool Party ink.

Isn’t the sentiment font gorgeous?  I stamped my thankful sentiment directly onto the DSP with Gray Granite ink.  Thank goodness for my Stamparatus.  I stamped the image more than once to get the sentiment a little darker than the pumpkins.

So, add Pretty Pumpkins to your Wish List, find some inspiration and create your special pretty pumpkins!

The Harvest Meadow Suite Is Beautiful!

Happy Wednesday!

Today, I’m showcasing the Harvest Meadow Suite of Products from Stampin’ Up!’s newly launched Holiday Mini.  This Suite has an organic vibe.  It includes:

  • Cork Specialty Paper,
  • Diamond Weave Lace Ribbon that has a hand crocheted look,
  • Brushed Metallic Dots
  • A Timeworn Type 3-D Embossing Folder that looks like pages from an old book.
  • Soft, natural colors paired with bolder, brighter shades
  • The Harvest Dies are perfect for layering or using as silhouette accents.  They also match the stamps and have two perfectly sized sentiment frames.
  • The Nature’s Harvest Stamp Set has 7 Cling Stamps.

My card was inspired by the Crumb Cake and Basic White wheat patterned paper from the Harvest Meadow Designer Series Paper. There are wisps of Crumb Cake wheat stalks floating on a Basic White background.  The possibilities for adding color are endless.  I chose Bermuda Bay as an accent. The wheat stalks in the pattern paper also perfectly match the die cut wheat which I cropped in Thick Basic White cardstock using one of the dies from the Harvest Dies.

This card came together quickly once I decided on the Bermuda Bay accent.  I added a few Linen Thread circles to highlight the sentiment and completed the card with a few Gold Metallic Pearls.

A few posts back, I created a card using a similar design and a different pattern in the Harvest Meadow DSP pack. This pattern closely matches the pattern in the Timeworn Type Embossing Folder. The card is below.

So, it’s time to “harvest”! Grab the Nature’s Harvest Bundle, pick a pattern from the DSP,  add an embellishment or two and create something thankful!
