You should have just left stop number 9 on the Pals Hop – Shannon Jaramillo at ezpeasycards.com. If so, you are in the right spot. If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.
From the time I first saw "Gingham Garden" Designer Series Paper, I had to have it. This was one of my first new catalog "wishes", and when it arrived, I just fell in love. The patterns and colors are so very trendy now. It really is a "feel good" must have.
For those who follow my posts, you know how I'm crazy for Midnight Muse. Gingham Garden features Night of Navy…a little warmer in tone than Midnight Muse, but just as striking as a contrast color for any project. It really takes your eye to the beautiful sentiment in my "Sweet Spot".
The "sweet, sweet moments" sentiment is from a new stamp set called Happy Day. The font is bold, very contemporary and very pretty! I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy ink.
My Night of Navy frame is cropped with the new Square Framelits. And, look closely for the pretty coordinating strip of floral Washi Tape. There's a beautiful Gingham Garden suite of Washi Tape featured in the new catalog, as well.
Along with all the pretty new products this card features, I didn't leave out my old favorites which are also available in the new catty… the pretty flower is punched using my Boho Blossoms punch and embellished with a Designer Basic Pearl and some Whisper White Baker's Twine.
I hope you enjoy, and remember always to…express your creativity!
Happy Stampin'
Debbie
The next stop is Nicole Watt at Pixel Maven's Retreat, stop number 11 on the Pals Blog Hop! Thanks for visiting – and I hope to see you next month!
Smile! It's another Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge. What beautiful Spring into Summer colors the Design Team chose! Primrose Petals, Gumball Green and Whisper White.
The color choices remind me of the Spring and Summer seasons. Primrose Petals is warm, just like those breezy Summer Days, and Gumball Green is cool, like our crisp Spring nights.
Taking you back a few posts to my "Card Design Posts", these colors are called "complementary colors" and are opposite each other on the color wheel. They say opposites attract… Primrose Petals and Gumball Green certainly do.
This design is another pretty "Clean and Simple", and I think the Wow! factor here is the "Smile" sentiment. This is from one of Stampin' Up!'s new stamp sets called "Happy Day".
Smile, it's a Happy Day!
Stampin Up Supplies Used: Cardstock – Whisper White. Ink – Primrose Petals. Stamp Sets – Secret Garden and Happy Day. Tools – 1" Circle Punch, Floral Frames Framelits. Stampin' Dimensionals and Paper Snips.
Everything Eleanor, Great Colors, Masking, and a few Pretty Embellishments…that's all there is to this simple and quiet card. There's nothing to this card but a very "Sweet Spot"…remember, that's the focal point with the sentiment and embellishments. They're all wrapped up into one pretty cluster.
The card base is Crumb Cake with a Whisper White layer. The beautiful blue hues are Island Indigo and Baja Breeze, decorated with just a few Designer Basic Pearls and Linen Thread.
I shadow stamped "Just Because" with some white craft ink (stamped off once), just because I didn't really want the sentiment to pop. On the actual card, the sentiment is a little bolder.
Thank you for joining us for the April Pals Blog Hop! To celebrate Earth Day, the April blog hop features new cards and projects that capture the essence of Earth Day through colors and images and/or use recycled or reused elements. We hope you are ready for some fun and creative ideas.
You should have just left stop number16 on the Pals Hop, Linda Callahan at Stampin' Seasons. If so, you are in the right spot. If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you can see all of the amazing creations.
I really wanted to keep this card as "earthy" as possible so I stayed predominantly with the soft earth tones of Crumb Cake and Soft Suede. My color pops are also earth tones.
What's more earthy than a tree? This beautiful silhouette is from the Forever Young stamp set, and by design, I chose not to use a sentiment. I think the graceful silhouette does very well on its own.
Of course, there aren't many cards of mine that don't have at least a strip of patterned paper and this one is no exception. The Soft Suede Polka Dot paper is from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack. The rest is from This and That Epic Day Designer Series Paper…and, Wow! is this DSP beautiful! I also used some washi tape from This and That, and I think I'm going to have some real fun with that washi tape!
The beautiful button up in the corner is from the Naturals Designer Buttons – a very "woodsy" button that's embellished with Natural Linen Thread.
Lots of earthy naturals are showcased today.
The next stop is Mary Fish at Stampin' Pretty, stop number 18 on the Pals Blog Hop!
Thanks for visiting – and I hope to see you next month!
Yesterday, my flowers were pink, and today they're blue…Blue for the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge! The colors are beautiful cool spring hues: Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue and Marina Mist.
It took a little while for me to come up with an idea for the April Color Challenge, but once I decided on the Bloomin' Marvelous stamp set, it was a breeze…a beautiful, spring cool breeze!
This is a Clean and Simple card and, I would say two notches up from a "Quick and Easy", but that's only because I decided to fussy cut the flowers. The cutting took a little time, but not much. The detail in the stamped flowers is perfect. No embellishment needed. My swirly "vine" is from the Everything Eleanor stamp set.
I hope you notice that this card is another perfect example of my Design Tip #3, "The Rule of Thirds"….and I have three flowers! (Remember the imaginary tic-tac-toe board over the card face?)….it's all BY DESIGN!
I am working on a few more "Design Tip" posts which I plan to have up over the next few days.
Thank you for your kind comments on the design tips. I'm glad they've been helpful.
