Classic Fun Folds Team Inspiration!

Hello and wishes for a happy day!

I am fortunate to belong to a wonderful team of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. We have monthly meet-ups and are excited to share projects with each other. We met this week and, of course, talked about the new catalog and the beautiful new 2022-2024 In Colors. I already have two favorites, Starry Sky and Orchid Oasis. I haven’t had my hands on them yet, but everything In Color is on the top of my wish list.

Inspiration From The Team

Karen’s Hello Ladybug

  • I’m showcasing Karen’s card at the top. She was our host and always warmly welcomes us, our stamps, paper, ink and cardstock scraps.
  • Karen’s card is a fun fold design using the Hello Ladybug Bundle.
  • I’ve seen this bundle used in so many unique designs. Karen’s design and color choices are “classic ladybug”.
  • I believe this Fun Fold is called a Double Flap Fun Fold.
  • The flowers and sentiment on the inside are part of the Hello Ladybug stamp set.

Leanne’s Flowering Rain Boots

  • Leanne shared a beautiful Flowering Rain Boots easel card.
  • She created a unique color combination: Real Red, Pacific Point, and Coastal Cabana.
  • The Pacific Point rain boots add a great “creative color” scheme. Love it!

  • The Real Red satin ribbon adds a bold finish to this card.
  • The “Happy Birthday” sentiment panel creates the stopping mechanism for the “easel” design.
  • Inside the card, there’s plenty of room for your personal note.

Monica’s Painted Poppies Amazing Day Tri-Fold

  • The Simply Marbleous Designer Series Paper is perfect with the circle layers on Monica’s card.
  • She chose a classic Basic White, Basic Gray, Basic Black and Real Red color combination.
  • The stamped poppy image is from the Painted Poppies stamp set and fits so well within the circle layers.

  • The circle sentiment layer acts as a card closure.
  • We can use this card design with just about any image stamp and sentiment.
  • You can switch out the circles for squares or rectangles.
  • The inside of the card leaves plenty of white space for your personal note or stamped sentiment.

My Artfully Layered Card

  • Lots of patterned paper from the Artfully Composed Designer Series Paper inspired this card.
  • Once you cut the layers and elements, this card goes together quickly.

So, I hope you enjoyed our Team Inspiration today.

Wow! A Fun Fold With Expressions In Ink

Hello and a happy March Saturday to you!

Today’s card is a double flap fun fold card. It’s definitely fun and easy to put together. The Expressions In Ink Designer Series Paper is amazing and perfect for this card design.

I always enjoy making fun fold cards but they are a bit challenging to photograph. Along with practicing photographing angles, I chose patterned paper with gold foil accents! Angles and lighting! Yikes! I hope you can see how the flaps and folds of this design work.

Here Are The Card Details

  • I chose a Pale Papaya card base and added Basic White layers.
  • I accented the floral pattern with a gold foil striped patterned paper from the DSP pack.
  • The sentiments are from the Eden’s Garden stamp set and stamped with Pear Pizzazz ink.
  • I kept the front sentiment simple but embellished the sentiment layer with a few small Gold Metallic Pearls.
  • The flower pattern in the DSP is so pretty, I wanted to show as much of it as possible.
  • My adhesive of choice is Multipurpose Glue. It works so well when adding layers and doesn’t dry immediately (but it does dry quickly). It gives you a little time to slide your layers into place.

So, pull out your amazing patterned paper, cut a matching card base, add a simple sentiment and send lots of hugs!

  • The large Friendly Hello sentiment is stamped directly onto the patterned paper front with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

Just A Note

A regular A-2 card is 4 1/4″ wide.  This card is 4″ wide.  It has a bit of dimension and does fit nicely into a regular A-2 envelope.

I hope you enjoy re-creating this card as much as I enjoyed putting it together.

So, find some great patterned paper, add coordinating cardstock, fussy cut some flowers and create a special easel card to say hello to a special friend!

FREE PDF – An In Bloom Amazing Friendly Hello

Happy Friday!

As promised in yesterday’s post, I’ve re-created the card from Georgia and created a PDF tutorial.  My past several posts have included a series of “firsts” for me.  Mini Slimline cards have become a welcome addition to my card making menu and today is my first  5″ x 7″ card.

This card is a fun fold with a pop up surprise.  Once you cut the cardstock and patterned paper layers, the design comes together quickly.  I added lots of images to the PDF so it would be easy for you to see it come together. There’s a sentiment layer on the front  card panel that anchors the diamond pattern created by the layered squares. On the back panel of the card is a Basic White card layer to add a personal note.

Click the button below to download the PDF.  I hope you enjoy re-creating this card.

So, download the PDF, pull out your favorite patterned paper, cut some layers and create something fun!

…the only limitation is your imagination!
