Today’s Carl Story

There are a few reasons for today’s card inspiration.

  • First, this is a CASE of a card I created last year that was very popular. (view the original post here).
  • It’s a fun card to make. The design works with much of what you already have.
  • Second, I wanted to showcase three of the Last Chance products I used to create this card.
  • The In Bloom Stamp Set and Pierced Blooms Dies are going away.
  • The In Bloom Stamp Set is not discounted, BUT the Pierced Bloom matching dies are half price NOW. They are $37.00 in the Annual Catalog and are now $18.50 during the Last Chance sale.
  • When you purchase the stamp set and dies the total is $35.50 – less than the price of the original Dies.
  • I’m such a fan of this Bundle and I can easily say that this is a true investment. I’ve used it over and over. This is one that I’m sad to see go.
  • The Pansy Patch Designer Series Paper is also on sale. The sale price is $9.20 from $11.50.
  • So, you can purchase the supplies to create today’s card for under $50.00.
  • I rarely quote pricing with product, but I truly had fun creating this card and the other cards in my Project Tutorial. The patterns in the Pansy Patch DSP are full of Spring color and simply pretty!

Take your time going through the Last Chance List. There are so many great discounted products.

A Gift For You

  • With every product purchase of $50.00 or more, I will send you a downloadable FREE PDF tutorial package.
  • The package includes detailed instructions and lots of pictures for three cards and a 3-D project using the supplies I mentioned above.
  • You will also receive a few design tips and tricks along the way.
  • These cards and the 3D project will not be posted anywhere else.
  • I also included a complete tutorial for the card today as a bonus, along with the other projects.
  • A sneak peek of the tutorial package is above this description.
  • This FREE Project Tutorial Package offer ends March 31, 2022.

So, find that fabulous stamp and die set, add fabulous patterned paper and create, create, create!

Hello Abstract Beauty

Hello Friends!

I don’t know about you, but I can’t stop looking at this Designer Series Paper.  It’s one of the patterns from the Abstract Beauty paper pack.  The designs include stripes, plaids, polka dots and abstract designs.  Most of the designs have gold foil accents..  This is a fun paper pack that will work for the long haul in your paper crafting.

Today’s Card Bits And Pieces

  • The first color I saw in this pattern is Balmy Blue, so this is my card base color.  Cut an A-2 tent fold base 5 1/2″ by 8 1/2″ and score at 4 1/4″.
  • The Basic White mat layer is 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″.
  • The patterned paper layer is 4″ x 5 1/4″.
  • With the Beautiful Shapes Dies, I cut three hexagons and a hexagon frame.
  • The Fresh Freesia hexagon is attached first with Multipurpose Glue.
  • The Misty Moonlight large hexagon is attached next with Multipurpose Glue.
  • The patterned paper strip measures 4″ x 1/2″ and attached with Dimensionals.
  • The thin Basic White strip is a scrap I had on my craft desk.  I thought it would be fun to add it to the patterned paper strip. It also gives a little more stability to the cluster of hexagons and adds color balance to the design.
  • The sentiment, stamped with Misty Moonlight ink, is attached with Dimensionals.
  • For some fun, I used a white gel pen to continue the DSP swirl on the Misty Moonlight hexagon.

So, grab a really colorful patterned paper, add a few shapes, scatter some gold and create something bold!

…the only limitation is your imagination!

CAS Fall Fun For The Paper Players

Happy Sunday!  It’s Clean and Simple week at the Paper Players and our amazing Claire is hosting.  She wants us to create a Fun Fall CAS card.  Just a reminder… a CAS card is Clean and Simple with minimal layers, lots of white space and little or no embellishments.

When I think of Fall Fun, I think of leaves falling and leaving their colorful beauty on the ground.  Yes, I’ve spent many years raking leaves, and that was fun, too… most of the time!

I truly enjoy creating CAS cards and this one’s no exception. It didn’t take much effort on my part to decide which stamps and dies to use.  The Love of Leaves stamp set and Stitched Leaves Dies are a favorite.

The texture in my card layer and leaves is easily created using the Dies.  My leaves are stamped with Mossy Meadow, Bumblebee and Cinnamon Cider ink. I attached my “galling leaves” with Dimensionals and my card was complete.

So, find a Fun Fall stamp set, add some simple texture and create something clean and simple to link up with us over at the Paper Players.

Peaceful Cabin For The Paper Players

Happy Sunday and welcome to the Paper Player’s Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge!  Jaydee is our host this week.

It’s easy to play Tic-Tac-Toe.  Select a column or row down, across or diagonally and create your project according to the themes in your selection!  I chose the third column down on the challenge grid; a square card with a masculine look using a neutrals color palette.

My card is a 5″ square showcasing the Peaceful Cabin Bundle and the Peaceful Place Designer Series Paper.  Along with the Challenge themes this week, I was inspired by the Peaceful Place Product Suite.

It was the Peaceful Place Designer Series Paper that made my decision to use the Peaceful Cabin Bundle for today’s Challenge.  It’s one of Stampn’ Up!’s Specialty Designer Series Paper packs. Some of the designs are subtly embossed, some have silver sparkle built in and some are everyday patterns you can use for lots of projects. I left a large border around the stamped and die cut cabin scene to show off the beautiful patterned paper.  The DSP’s color palette is Basic Black, Basic Gray and Smoky Slate.

The Peaceful Cabin Bundle includes the Peaceful Cabin stamp set and the Cabin Dies.  This is one Bundle you can’t split. For a truly peaceful cabin scene you absolutely need both.  It’s like having chocolate without peanut butter! You just can’t do that!!

Here’s how this card came together:

  • The card base is a finished 5″ square with a 4 7/8″ Basic Gray cardstock layer.
  • The patterned paper layer is a 4 3/4″ square.
  • I stamped the cabin image with Basic Gray ink onto a 3 3/4″ square of Thick Basic White cardstock.  The bottom of the stamped image is about an inch up from the bottom of the cardstock layer.
  • I used the matching die to cut the top of the cabin image.  The die fits across the top of the cabin perfectly.
  • I die cut the two pine trees with the excess Basic White cardstock.
  • The sentiment is stamped with Basic Gray ink.
  • I added a few plain white Shimmer Sequins which are part of the Peaceful Place Suite.
  • I wanted a little embellishment, but I wanted it to be subtle.

This card came together quickly and easily. This truly is a “Peaceful Cabin”.

So, pick a column or row, down, across or diagonally and create something fun or peaceful, or both to link up with us over at the Paper Players.
